I have been teaching a class on Health and nutrition at our church. Here is some information I gave to the class that I thought would help them get started with their new life of Health. Hopefully these quick tips can help you on your journey.

Immediate Steps to getting Healthy
1 Remove Pride
2 Eat plenty of Fresh Fruit and Veggies
3 Eat Whole Grains
4 Remove white from your diet(white sugar, white pasta, white rice)
5 Remove soft drinks from your diet(This includes diet drinks)
6 Seek to reduce caffeine intake.
7 Reduce your meat intake and eat lean meats(this also means cutting down your cheeses
8 Eat High Fiber, lower fat foods
9 Eat good fats(from nuts, Olive oil, avacados etc.)
10 Stay away from bad fats(Avoid trans fats, margarine)
11 Drink plenty of water
12 Don’t believe the diet lies: You cannot eat whatever you want and loose weight in a healthy manner
13 Exercise 4-5 times a week 40 minutes(try to get a sweat going if you can. Work up to this time. You start buring fat after 20 minutes)
14 Weigh yourself weekly at the same time of day
15 Reduce calories by 500 a day and you will lose a pound or two a week.
16 Have Fun eating and exercising
