Raw Apple Crumble
I love this recipe… Easy to make and a hit wherever I have taken it… Try and enjoy.
For the apple mixture
4 apples
1/4 cup raisins
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon Cinnamon
Juice of 1/2 lemon
Method
Chop 2 of the apples and put them in a dish.
Chop the other 2 apples and put them and the rest of the ingredients into the food processor. Process until like apple sauce.
Stir chopped apples and sauce together.
For the crumble
8 Medjool dates
3 Tablespoons water
1/4 cup each oats and shredded unsweetened coconut
1/4 cup chopped walnuts
2 Tablespoons pumpkin seeds (or leave out)
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Method
Blend dates and water till they are a thick paste, then stir in the rest of the ingredients. Sprinkle over the apple mixture.
For the custard
1 Banana or mango
1/4 cup cashews
1/4 cup Turmeric (for colour, I leave it out)
1 Tablespoon sweetner. (Maple syrup, raw honey or Palm sugar)
Water for desired consistency
Method
Blend together until smooth. Pour over the other 2 layers.
If you want warm custard use warm water.
Adapt this and experiment to meet your needs and likes. For example if you can’t have nuts, experiment with other things that you can have. I also make custard with custard powder and almond milk. (Rice milk doesn’t work!)
