Alcohol and Your Health
Published
Our body’s cells need our assistance in doing their job of keeping us well. Don’t make lifestyle choices that result in poor health. Avoid drinking alcohol, as this may have some serious effects on the body and can also lead to alcohol abuse or alcoholism (dependence). Some people become addicted to alcohol the first time they take a drink.
Alcohol is one of the most damaging substance to the stomach and the small intestine. It reduces the absorption of nutrients in the small intestine which increases the risk of malnutrition. It is also one of the few things that can penetrate the lining of the stomach which causes it to enter the blood stream very quickly. High blood alcohol level can be life-threatening.
Liver disorder is one of the serious effects of drinking alcohol. It can harm the liver’s ability to produce digestive enzymes making it hard for the body to absorb essential nutrients. Further damage to the liver may lead to hepatitis (inflamed liver) or cirrhosis of the liver (hardening and scarring). A damaged liver cannot perform it’s many functions including it’s ability to filter out toxins.
Cleansing the body of toxins (detoxification) is vital. Make healthy lifestyle choices for your good health. Supplement with Aim RediBeets.
