Cancer Awareness
Published
The body is made up of cells that contains it’s own DNA that tells the cell what to do. In a healthy body, cells divide so as to grow and repair damaged tissues and replace dying cells. This keeps our bodies healthy but if cells keep multiplying when new ones are not necessary a tumor is formed. A tumor can be either benign ( not cancerous) or malignant ( cancerous). Benign tumors do not spread to other parts of the body and do not grow back if removed. Malignant tumors can be life threatening, grows uncontrollably, and have the ability to spread to other parts of the body.
If a portion of a cell’s DNA is damaged, the cell can become abnormal. When the abnormal cell divides the new cells are also abnormal. Most of the time, our bodies have the ability to destroy these abnormal cells. If a crucial portion of the DNA is destroyed and the abnormal cells cannot be controlled any longer then cancer forms.
Factors that can contribute to the development and growth of cancer includes pollution (external ), infections ( internal ) and smoking ( life style). Factors that can inhibit includes vitamins and nutrients found in fruits and vegetables. By making ourselves aware of all the factors that may promote or inhibit the development and growth of cancer, and by taking necessary action we can reduce our risk of getting cancer.
Increasing your intake of fruits and vegetables, Building a diet around whole foods, drinking eight glasses of pure water daily, and using AIM supplements will nourish cells to be their best.
