Scleroderma Awareness
Published
The body is fearfully and wonderfully made and it is so awesome to see how the different body systems function. For example, the immune system, when functioning properly identifies those things that naturally belongs in the body and those that are foreign and may be harmful. The immune system works to protect the body from infection and disease.
When the immune system is not functioning properly it impairs the body’s ability to heal and protect itself from infectious disease. Many different disorders, including allergies, lupus, rheumatoid arthritis and Scleroderma have been linked to inappropriate immune system activity. Scleroderma is a connective tissue disease that involves changes in the skin, blood vessels, muscles, and internal organs. It is a type of autoimmune disorder, a condition that occurs when the immune system mistakenly attacks and destroys healthy body tissue. People with this condition have a buildup of a substance called collagen in the skin and other organs. Symptoms may include skin hardness, hair loss, joint pain, shortness of breath and constipation. The most common immune suppressors include stress and improper diet.
Try not to take life too seriously, learn to laugh, get enough sleep each night and exercise regularly to reduce stress. Building a diet around whole foods, drinking eight glasses of pure water daily, and using AIM supplements will nourish cells to be their best.
