Alzheimer’s Disease Awareness

Published

Just like every other part of our bodies, our brains change as we age . Most of us eventually notice some slowed thinking and occasional problems with remembering certain things. However, serious memory loss, confusion and other major changes in the way our minds work may be a sign that brain cells are failing. You can maintain a healthy and vibrant brain throughout your life as long as you do what is necessary to keep making  new brain cells and then put them to proper use. Making more connection between those brain cells we already have is also very important.

Antioxidant supplementAlzheimer’s disease  is the most common cause of dementia in older people.  Dementia is a medical condition that disrupts the way the brain works. Although the risk of getting the disease increases with age, it is not a normal part of aging. Alzheimer’s  affects the parts of the brain that control thought, memory, and language. Symptoms Include initial mild forgetfulness, confusion with names and simple mathematical problems, forgetfulness  to do simple everyday tasks. Symptoms usually develop slowly and get worse over time. In the final stage, Alzheimer’s disease creates severe confusion and disorientation. Some people become violent and angry while others may be calm and inactive. It is in this later stage that people with Alzheimer’s disease may experience incontinence and neglect personal hygiene. In these cases the person neither intends to nor can control the behavior, it is the result from changes in the brain. Take some time to learn more about the brain and  how to care for it.

Take care of yourself. Be socially active, feeling alone and isolated is a risk factor. Keep yourself stimulated all the time with new and interesting learning experiences. Get a good night sleep and exercise regularly. Building a diet around whole foods, drinking eight glasses of pure water daily, and using AIM supplements will nourish cells to be their best.
