Persevere! May 21, 2012 /10

It is so hard to believe that another week has come and gone. I wonder where the past goes! Time… I wonder where it goes?   it is like a bottomless pit in which time just goes, and no one can retrieve it… ever!

That makes me think…. we really need to live on purpose! We need to be living with a carefulness of what we say and think and do for all these things that we do that we regret… can never ever be retrieved! They go  into that time pit!

Talking about regrets, when I had two young toddlers we got a dog: Labrador /Rottweiler. A beautiful black dog who was too big for a family with a 2 and 3 year old! She knocked the kids over (trying to play) and dig up well established plants such as my Chinese Fan Palm and a Australian Tea Bush and I would get so mad at her and shout and scream! Nothing helped. She started escaping out of our yard and so we found her a new home, you see, we lived really close to a freeway and we could not bear to see her hurt. She was adopted pretty much hours after we dropped her off. But to this day I regret that I got so mad with her. Life is too short, number one, AND no one benefited!

Now I am so much better with Sheba. I have been training her and she is so good. The point is, that I need to persevere! I need to be consistent! Sounds familiar since I spoke about this once before. Yet again I have to learn this. You see.. every now and again Sheba gives me a taste of what she will be like if I persevere! But then she has another few days of just being a puppy. So Lord, help me to persevere and keep that vision in mind.

So off I go into another week determined to do what God wants me to do and determined to persevere. My verse from a few weeks ago says: “As for you, be strong and do not give up for your work shall be rewarded” 2 Chronicles 15:7. I determine to keep this promise in front of me and not give up for my work shall be rewarded.
