Hi again,

I sit here today and it is cold in comaprison to yeserday. Wow! This is when the sickness likes to settle in. Germs love it when it is hot and cold and then hot as it makes us vulnerable to attack.  Was just learning about our defense against disease… the IMMUNE SYSTEM. What an amazing God we serve. He made our bodies so intricately.

Yesterday I was eating a pear and saw a sticker on it with the South African flag on it and it made me a little homesick. I miss my sisters and my family who are still there. So far away from where

I am and yet here I am in Canada and I am eating a pear from my home country. The country that I say is my heart. You see… in my blood I am German, but because I grew up in South Africa it is in my heart. Now I am Canadian, have been for almost 6 years now. Seemed like such a long wait to get that paper and soon we will be celebrating 11 years of living in Canada! But the best news of all is that I am a citizen of heaven and I am simply passing through this world awaiting the next! And this only because of Jesus, who gave His life for me on the cross because He loves me. Know what else? He loves you too!

It is Thursday now and time to reflect again on what I have been learning… and once again I realise that I cannot ever let my guard down. I need to stay consistent and strong at all times. In the afternoon I played a bit with Sheba but I had changed my approach to more like that of Caitlin and straight away she began to jump up and treat me more the way she treats Caitlin. I learned very quickly that this is not a good thing and that I am too old for her to do this to me.

One of the cutest things that I have seen is how Sheba drinks her water when she is really thirsty. a Picture is worth a thousand words… let’s have a look…
