Nutrition Tip: Essential Fatty Acids

Nutrition Tip: Essential Fatty Acids

Published

We all need essential fatty acids, omega 3,omega 6, and omega 9.  They are important to our brains. Our brains need omega 3 and omega 6 to run well for us.  Its funny how God made the walnuts, which look like tiny brains, to contain omega 3 and omega 6 fatty acids, as well as vitamin E and vitamin B6.  Walnuts may boost your brain and heart health as well as being a blessing to your nervous system. Walnuts are a high fiber source. They are low in satruated fats but high in unsaturated fats and they are a great source of antioxidants.

Flax seeds are high in omega 3 EFAs. They are easy to use because you can sprinkle them on your cereal or you can  bake them in muffins or other baked goods.

I can’t leave with out telling you about AIM’s AIMega an Essential Fatty suppliment.  I don’t always have walnuts to eat nor do I always have flax seeds around to put on or in my food so AIMegas are my perfect source of omega 3, omega 6, and omega 9 essential fatty acids.
